Pilau Masala Paste for authentic Pilau Rice dishes, excellent as tasty main meals or served as an accompaniment to a curry dish.

Rice 'n' Easy - Just add basmati rice for authentic aromatic pilau dishes.
 
Pilau Masala
The Following Guidelines are for 3-4 Large Portions
  1. Heat 2-4 tablespoons of oil in a large pan, for 30 seconds on full heat.
  2. Add 175g Shaheens Pilau Masala and stir continuously for 2 minutes.
  3. Add 600ml water and follow the guidelines for your choice of dish below, then go to step 4.
  • Plain Pilau - Bring water to boil and go to step 4.
  • Chickpea Pilau -Add 250g of  tinned chickpeas and bring to the boil.
  • Vegetable Pilau - Add 200-250g of frozen vegetables or peas and bring to the boil. (for fresh vegetables boil for 7 minutes )
  • Chicken Pilau -  Add 200-250g of diced chicken and bring to boil for 10 mins
  • Mince Meat Pilau - Add 200g of minced lamb and bring to boil for 15 mins.
  • Meat Pilau - Add 250g of diced meat or chops and bring to the boil then simmer covered for 40 minutes or until meat is tender.
  • Prawn Pilau - Add 200-250g of fresh prawns and bring to the boil.
     4.  Add 400g of Basmati Rice. Stir and bring to the boil, then reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 mins, do not stir again or uncover until ready.
     5.  Serve with well seasoned yoghurt, mixed with chilli powder, fresh coriander, finely chopped onion, cucumber & tomatoes - delicious!
