Shan Special Shahi Haleem Mix (With Lentil & Grains)

300g. Mix for Meat, Lentil & Wheat. 

Includes lentils and grain mix as well as spice mix.

Haleem is a traditional stew-type curry made from a mix of lentils and grains. Often cooked with added meat which is cooked tender, then all mashed through to achieve a thick curry consistency. Haleem is usually eaten on its own like a thick soup or with bread like chapati, roti and naan.

  • Heat half cup ghee/oil, add 250g boneless meat, 500g bones and Shan Haleem Masala. Stirfry for few minutes. Add pulses and grain mix, add 12 cups water.
  • Cover and cook on a low heat until meat is completely tender (about 4-6 hours). Stir occasionally.
  • Remove bones and discard. Blend mixture to a coarse paste with a wooden spoon or coarse grind half quantity in blender. Do not grind to fine paste.
  • Add 2 cups water. Cook on low heat for 20-30 minutes.
  • Heat remaining ghee/oil and fry 1 medium sliced onions until golden. Pour into the Haleem. Cover and cook on low heat for 20-30 minutes.

Wheat (Dehusked, Washed & Baked), Barley (Dehusked, Washed & Baked), Split Yellow Pea, Split Mung Beans, Skinless Black Gram, Red Lentil.

Spice Mix:

Salt. Red Chili, Paprika, Turmeric, Black Pepper, CurryLeaf, Coriander, Nigella, Cumin, Green Cardamom, Bay Leaf, Clove, Ginger, Dehydrated Onion, Garlic, Dried Papaya Powder, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Cane Sugar, Canola Oil, Silicon Dioxide.
