Nail on the Head
This is the only thing that has come close to UK takeaway curry. I would suggest not to put in raw meat but to brown it off first and drain off the excess water. Brilliant tastes snd aromas. I want more!
"Best curry I have had in 40 years
I regularly used to make curries from imported spice mixes having been frustrated with the usual restaurant/take away/supermarket fare nowadays but just tried my first curry made from a U Cook kit. I was blown away by the simplicity of the cooking process but most of all the the quality of the curry that I was able to make from the kit - it was so good I will probably only use these kits from now on. Absolutely brilliant product, thank you !
"A most excellent curry kit.
Flavour and texture is fantastic.
So easy to use and adapt.
Try adding chopped bell pepper (green or red) towards the end for extra content.
Add a few more chillis for more heat.
Parboil some quartered potatoes (Maris Piper?) and add towards the end of cooking until they are done - eat the potato/madras curry then with chapatti or Nan bread instead of rice.
A little bit of Palm Sugar with lemon juice also makes a wonderful extra dimension towards the end.
"I bought a medium Madras, and cooked some chuck steak and vegetables in it. It's the best curry I've ever tasted, bar none! The only time I'll ever have a takeaway is if I don't have a sauce available and, since I've just ordered some more, I doubt that will ever be the case. Thank you.
